With over 20 years of practice, Dr. Michael L. Costello
D.D.S. has earned a reputation for being one of the
area’s most qualified dentists. Dr. Costello opened
his South Milwaukee practice in 1983 and the downtown
location in 1984.
A Wisconsin native, Dr. Costello graduated
from Marquette University Dental School in 1981. Upon
graduation he worked for Dr. Thomas Haddican and Dr.
William DeMakes. In 1984, he purchased Dr. DeMakes’s
practice.
Dr. Costello is a member of the American
Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, Greater
Milwaukee Dental Association as well as the Pierre Fauchard
Academy. He is a Preceptor to Marquette University Dental
School and received the 2003 Wisconsin Dental Association
Presidential Award of Honor.
Dr. Costello believes in giving back to
the community. His extensive community service includes
donating dental service, mentoring at Marquette University
School of Dentistry, participating in the Head Start
Screening Program, supporting Milwaukee Rowing Club
for Juniors, and the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of America.
Away from the practice, Dr Costello enjoys
spending time with his wife and three children, snowboarding
with friends, swimming, biking and reading. |

Many of our patients will recognize Laurie by sight. She
has been with Dr Costello’s practice for 23 years!
A graduate of Marquette University’s dental hygiene
program. Laurie uses her dental knowledge to work as a
liaison with the insurance companies in resolving any
claim issues for our patients. |

A graduate of Cardinal Stritch University Mary joined
The Downtown Dental Group in 1998. After 10 years of service
Mary knows almost all patients by name and will warmly
greet them upon arrival to our office. Mary loves nature
and likes to spend her time outdoors hiking and camping
with friends and family. |

Gail is a graduate of Mount Mary College in Wauwatosa.
She brought her management and business background to
Dr Costello’s practice in 1992 and is always looking
for efficient ways in maximizing our insurance patients’
benefits. Gail is also the editor of our on-line monthly
newsletter and always welcomes suggestions and ideas for
articles. In her free time, Gail loves to travel, taking
both motorcycle and biking trips around the world. |

Practice Administrator
Laura attended DePaul University in Chicago majoring in
accounting and business. She has been active in administrating
the office since 1984. She enjoys working with the offices’
self-motivated team. Away from the office, Laura enjoys
spending time with her husband, children, volunteering
for nonprofit organizations and preparing for her new
found passion, rowing. |

Clinical Supervisor
Jennifer attended Wisconsin Lutheran College and graduated
in 2000 with a degree in Communication. It’s this
background that makes her an assistant that knows how
to make our patients feel at ease. She was recently married
in Austria and now spends her free time with her husband
and friends. In spring and summer you will find her on
the golf course, endeavoring to learn and master the game. |

Michelle
Registered Dental Hygienist
Michelle started with Dr Costello in 1997 as a full
time dental assistant. Two years later she changed to
part-time hours so she could pursue studies at MATC
in the Dental Hygiene program. She graduated in December
2001 and rejoined the practice as a hygienist. While
still enjoying short vacation getaways, today Michelle
prefers spending her free time with her new daughter
Olivia. |

Registered Dental Hygienist
Jennifer is a graduate of MATC’s hygiene school.
She received her degree in May of 2010 and joined Dr.
Costello’s practice shortly afterward. Jennifer
is constantly looking to expand her knowledge base and
is working towards her Masters in the health field. When
she is not working or studying she spends time with her
3 children. Her other passions include cooking and baking,
and enjoys activities outdoors. |

OSHA Coordinator
Mary is a graduate of Prairie State College in the dental
hygiene program. She is licensed to practice hygiene in
both Wisconsin and her home state of Illinois. She has
been with Dr Costello since January 1991. In her available
time, Mary is an Anthropology major at UW Milwaukee. |

Coordinator of Patient Recall Program
Katie completed her studies at MATC in December of 2000
and started her Dental Hygiene career at Dr Costello’s
offices in February of 2001. She is constantly pursuing
new knowledge and the development of new techniques in
the field so that our patients may maintain their oral
health. Katie enjoys reading and spending her free time
with her husband and two adorable sons. |

Dental Assistant
Many advancements have been made in the dental field since
Linda became a dental assistant in 1974. She joined Dr
Costello’s team in the year 2000. When time allows
Linda travels nationwide assisting with the Armed Forces
Readiness Program. "I enjoy all aspects of my career.
It is very rewarding to help others and I hope to continue
making our patients smile for a long time to come." |

Dental Assistant
Jenna graduated from Waukesha County Technical College
in the Dental Assisting program in 2006. She started with
Dr. Costello's offices the following January 2007. She
enjoys all aspects of her job but maintaining our "No
Cavity Club" board for our little patients always brings
a smile! Jenna does not have much down time but when she
does she enjoys sharing that time with her family and
friends. |
